Kennebunkport is blessed with many productive fishing areas that are just a short ride from our dock. Fishing these near-shore spots allows for more fishing time because of the shorter travel; it's Saltwater Fishing at its best.
Southern Maine has some of the best coastal fishing for Striped Bass, Cod, Mackerel and Bluefish in the Northeast. The Mackerel usually show up at the end of May and in 2011 the fishing was great. These bait fish provide plenty of food for the big Striped Bass that follow them up the coast. The Bass show up just after the Macks and stay with us through the whole summer. Much of the Bass fishing we do is with live bait, and there is nothing more exciting than seeing your bait being chased by a big Bass or Bluefish and waiting for the hook-up.
Our Bluefish usually arrive in late July and August and offer some great sport. Blues are tough fighters and catching one on light tackle is a blast!
